There isn't just one way to be part of Rootlight Collective.

You can come to an event. Learn something new. Share a resource with someone who needs it.

Volunteer a few hours. Support a program financially. Introduce us to an organization that should know about our work. Or simply become part of the community and see where it takes you.

Rootlight Collective is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. We bring community members, holistic practitioners, local organizations, volunteers, and supporters together around a shared goal: making wellness education and healing resources more accessible in the RGV.

Whether you have time, resources, connections, knowledge, or simply an interest in learning, there's a place for you here.

Start by Showing Up

Attend a Rootlight Event

One of the easiest ways to become part of Rootlight is simply to come experience what we're creating.

Throughout the year, Rootlight and our participating practitioners offer community wellness events, educational workshops, book discussions, sound healing experiences, wellness talks, and other opportunities to gather and learn.

You don't need experience with holistic wellness. You don't need to already understand Reiki, herbalism, sound healing, ancestral practices, hypnosis, somatic work, or any of the other practices you may encounter.

You can come curious.

Our community programs are designed to give people a place to learn, ask questions, experience different practices, and meet people doing this work here in the Rio Grande Valley.

Many Rootlight programs are free, donation-based, or offered on a sliding scale to help make participation accessible.

Stay connected beyond a single event.

Rootlight is more than a calendar of events.

We're building a community where people interested in wellness can continue learning, discover local resources, hear about upcoming opportunities, and connect with others who share that interest.

Community membership gives you a way to stay connected to what is happening through Rootlight and the broader holistic wellness community in the Rio Grande Valley.

You may be completely new to holistic wellness, already have practices that are part of your life, or simply want to learn what's available locally.

You don't have to know where your journey is going before you join the conversation.

HELP SOMEONE ELSE FIND US

Spread the word.

This is one of the simplest ways to help Rootlight, and it matters more than people realize.

Many people who would benefit from wellness education or community support don't know these resources exist in the Rio Grande Valley.

You can help change that.

Share an upcoming event with a friend. Send someone an article that made you think of them. Invite someone to come with you. Follow Rootlight on social media. Share a post.

Tell a community organization about us.

Every introduction helps us reach someone we may not have been able to reach on our own.

When more people know these resources exist, more people have the opportunity to decide whether they're right for them.

VOLUNTEER WITH RLC

Give your time, skills, or experience.

You don't have to be a wellness practitioner to contribute to this work.

As a growing community nonprofit, Rootlight relies on people willing to help us turn ideas into actual programs.

Volunteer opportunities may include supporting community events, welcoming participants, outreach, photography or video, administrative projects, distributing information, helping with educational programs, connecting with community organizations, and contributing professional skills.

Some opportunities require an ongoing commitment. Others may involve helping with a single event or project.

If you believe accessible wellness education belongs in the Rio Grande Valley and you have something you'd like to contribute, we'd like to hear from you.

SUPPORT ACCESSIBLE COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

Small contributions can make a real difference.

Making an event free or affordable doesn't mean it costs nothing to create.

There are spaces to secure, materials to purchase, technology to maintain, people to reach, programs to organize, and practitioners contributing their knowledge and time.

Community support helps Rootlight cover those costs without placing the entire financial burden on individual practitioners or the people attending our programs.

We've already seen how much even a small amount of funding can accomplish.

During RGV Wellness Week in August 2026, approximately $51 in advertising helped our free wellness education reach 886 people. The five-day program generated 2,559 video views and brought 77 new people into our email community.

That showed us something important:

It doesn't always take a large gift to make a meaningful difference.

It takes enough people deciding that this work is worth supporting.

Recurring and one-time donations help us promote community programs, keep educational opportunities accessible, support outreach, and build the resources Rootlight needs to continue serving the Rio Grande Valley.

SPONSOR OUR EVENTS

Help put wellness within reach.

Businesses, organizations, and individuals can directly support Rootlight programming through event sponsorship.

Sponsorship helps cover the practical costs of creating accessible community experiences, including event spaces, promotion, materials, equipment, and other program expenses.

For local businesses and organizations, sponsorship is also an opportunity to demonstrate a commitment to community wellness while helping Rootlight reach more people throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Support can be financial, in-kind, or connected to the needs of a particular event.

PARTNER WITH ROOTLIGHT

We don't have to build everything ourselves.

Some of the strongest community work happens when organizations bring together what each already does well.

Rootlight welcomes partnerships with nonprofits, community organizations, educational institutions, local businesses, wellness organizations, and others interested in improving access to wellness resources in the Rio Grande Valley.

A partnership might mean hosting a Rootlight program at your location, collaborating on an educational event, helping us reach a community you already serve, providing space or resources, sponsoring programming, or creating something together that neither organization could accomplish alone.

If your organization shares part of our mission, we'd like to explore what working together could look like.

ARE YOU A WELLNESS PRACTITIONER?

There's a place for you here, too.

Rootlight was built in part because too many practitioners doing meaningful work in the Rio Grande Valley were doing it alone.

Our practitioner community brings together people working across holistic, complementary, cultural, ancestral, and healing arts practices.

Participating practitioners have opportunities to connect with one another, contribute to community education, collaborate on programs, develop referral relationships, and help more people understand the resources available in our region.

Rootlight isn't about putting every practice under one label.

It's about creating connections between people doing this work and the community looking for it.

Come to something first.

Attend an event. Join a book discussion. Watch one of our wellness talks. Read an article. Follow us online. Bring a friend.

Getting involved doesn't have to begin with a donation, membership, or commitment.

Sometimes it begins with simply showing up.

And that's how community gets built.

However You Participate, You're Part of the Work

Rootlight's mission isn't accomplished by one board, one practitioner, or one organization.

It happens when a practitioner shares what they know.

When someone attends their first sound healing experience.

When a business pays for the room so an event can remain affordable.

When a volunteer helps people find their seats.

When someone shares an event with a friend.

When a community organization opens its doors.

When a donor gives $10 so we can reach another group of people who didn't know these resources existed.

Those actions may look small individually. Together, they create access.

That's what Rootlight Collective is building in the Rio Grande Valley.
